● Self Defence & Personal Protection

Imagine that in a few week’s time you are having to live off the land as your home was destroyed by an unexpected Act of God.  Think this isn’t likely to happen to you?

-  In March 2011 the people of Fukushima, Japan didn’t expect a tsunami

-  In August 2011 the residents of New York didn’t expect to have to flee their homes with the arrival of Hurricane Irene

IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU –  SO GET PREPARED!

What will shock most of us is the sudden failure of electricity for an extended period with no TV or radio; limited cell phone communication; no healthcare, no supermarkets open, no public transport available.  Are you getting the picture?

With oil rig disasters, volcanic activity, earthquakes, dubious threats from passing comets and other cataclysmic events around the planet becoming more commonplace,  don’t you think its time you did something to secure a store of food and at least prepare for some potentially more adventurous times ahead?

What do you do first?  What skills do you need to learn, and quickly?  How do you look after your family? You’ll find suggestions here!

This is not a site for the experienced outdoor types. They’re experienced enough to look after themselves.  The information here has been built to help the average family find out more about  what they CAN DO to prepare for the future.

The Global Food Crisis

The global food situation has become so grim that the UN recently held an emergency meeting to address its concerns that food riots will most certainly occur, overthrowing many governments.

The world’s grain supply has fallen to 72 days consumption, an ominous situation that brings us perilously close to the 64 day mark that incited the global food riots during 2007-2008.

Of the top 10 grain food suppliers in the world, the following countries have experienced catastrophic failures: China (flooding), India (flooding), Canada (drought), Russia (drought), Ukraine (drought), Australia (drought and locust plague) and Pakistan (floods).  In Pakistan’s case the loss of crops was almost total due to unprecedented flooding. Russia has banned all grain exports.

Julian Cribb, award-winning Australian science author wrote: “millions of people will soon begin mass migrations in search of food and water”. In August 2011  NATO’s ‘liberating’  forces destroyed a water pipeline in Libya denying drinking water to 4.5 million people.  Crops that feed millions can no longer be irrigated.  As repair work was about to be started on the pipeline, NATO destroyed the factory that was carrying out this work.

This is the crop equivalent of financial armageddon. Watch the price of bread, cereals and other grain based foods rise.

….and then of course there’s the imposition of Martial Law.  Under Martial Law everyone loses their rights.  This one we all need to be prepared for.

And its when not if!

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone
